Mercedes MOT Garage

The annual Ministry of Transport Test, more commonly known as the MOT test, is a legal requirement for every vehicle over three years of age to prove their roadworthiness. MOT tests can only be carried out by qualified testers who are specifically trained to inspect a vehicle.

Our team of expert mechanics are fully-trained with years of main dealer experience and are equipped with the latest tools and diagnostic equipment so we can offer a highly efficient service.

Servicing & MOT

As both are carried out annually, many car owners opt to have their vehicle serviced at the same time as the MOT test to minimise disruption to their schedules. Godstone Mercedes Ltd offer a special discount if you book your vehicle servicing and the MOT on the same day. If you are interested in taking advantage of this offer, please simply contact us on to arrange your appointment.

MOT FAQs

Q: How long does an MOT take?

A: Depending on our schedule and the condition of the vehicle, an MOT test can take anywhere from 45 to 75 minutes. If any repairs are required, you will be notified, and we will update you with a new timescale.

Q: What does the MOT cover?

A: An MOT tests the operational aspects of the vehicle to ensure it’s safe to be driven on the road. There is a comprehensive checklist which covers both the interior and exterior, as well as the mechanical parts of the vehicle, including seatbelts, lights, steering and the general condition of the chassis. If you’d like more information, please simply speak with our friendly team on .

Q: What if I fail an MOT?

A: If your vehicle fails an MOT, it’s not the end of the world as may be due to something as simple as a worn tyre, which can be easily remedied. You can still drive your vehicle as long as your current MOT hasn’t expired; you are entitled to a free re-test within ten days of the initial test, and you are free to choose where the repairs are carried out.

Godstone Mercedes Ltd will produce a clear report to let you know the result of the test and highlight if any repairs are required.
